BIBA Gertrude St. is home to Frank Apostolopoulos, 5 times winner of Australian Hairdresser of the year.
BIBA Creative Director, multiple salon owner and 2016 Hair Expo Hairdresser of the year Frank Apostolopoulos lives and breathes hairdressing. His passion for precision cutting, education, fashion and photography has seen Frank emerge as not only one of Australia’s most revered hairdressers but one quickly gaining recognition on the global stage.
Frank’s talent was evident early in life, personally inducted by BIBA owner Pavlos Divitaris into the leading salon culture at the ripe age of 15. Over the next 20 years he’s grown to be a driving force behind BIBA, forging an army of salons distinguishable by a somewhat bold take on hairdressing with more than a touch of Frank’s penchant for pushing the creative envelope. Such a career has not been confined to the world of BIBA, travelling extensively around Australia and internationally in the past as a Wella Australia and New Zealand Creative Director, GHD Ambassador and a go-to stylist for some of the most avant-garde and prestigious projects. His inimitable reputation for melding old school looks with nods to the future has earned him a long list of accolades, establishing Frank as a boundary breaker who sets the trends of hair fashion.
Not content being one of the hottest in-demand hairdressers right now, Frank revels in any opportunity to nurture the talent of tomorrow. He shares his formidable experience alongside the BIBA Salons and beyond, while his expert approach and passion for his craft has become a constant source of inspiration for the next generation of cutting-edge stylists.
“I hold nothing back. I feel fortunate to be able to share my creations, innovations and designs with up and coming hairdressers. I hope my work can somehow benefit passionate hairdressers in some small way now and into the future.”
